Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Marco Aurelio over Christmas, I found this bed and breakfast to be an excellent base for exploring Rome. Located in the historic Aventino area, it's just a short walk from the Ostiense Train Station, making it immensely convenient for travel, especially after arriving with family. The bright and colorful rooms were clean, featuring modern amenities such as a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, key for comfort during winter. One delightful aspect was the shared kitchen, which encouraged a cozy atmosphere as we prepared meals together before heading out to explore ancient landmarks. Not to mention the delightful breakfast offered at a nearby bar, where we enjoyed delicious pastries and rich Italian coffee each morning, fueling our adventures in the city. The staff were warm and accommodating; they even stored our luggage, allowing us to savor the city without the weight of our bags. The fantastic terrace was a lovely touch-ideal for sipping a drink and soaking in the vibrant surroundings post-exploration. Marco Aurelio provided both charm and convenience, making it a perfect retreat for those looking to immerse themselves in Rome's rich history.
